[TUT] Stop and Disable Windows Update Auto Restart or Reboot

In Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP, after installing downloaded updates via Windows Update manually or scheduled Automatic Updates automatically, the system will auto-restart or auto-reboot in order to apply all the updates. Despite Windows 7 has added option to allow users to postpone or delay the restart, the computer will still automatically restart sometime later, if the updates required system to be rebooted to finish the installation.

Microsoft started to implement the feature where some system-related updates will only be installed and applied on system restart since Windows XP SP2 (Service Pack 2). Once system completes the installing of updates which requires to restart Windows, system will notify users that it needs to restart, and if there is no response from user in 5 minutes, Windows will automatically reboot the computer, even though user is logged on, and has programs running or documents opened.
The immediate result of Windows automatic restart is that any unsaved data, such as files, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, and servers will be lost, and downloads or processes such as backup or defragmentation that not yet finished will be terminated, directly or potentially causing data lost.
To prevent, avoid and stop Windows from automatically restart, use the trick below to disable the auto restart after installing Windows Updates feature.

1st Method:

The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:

Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl + alt + del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.

Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".

Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

  • Sometimes people press Backspace key to remove typed characters from addressbar or from a text field but the field doesn't get activated and the browser goes back to the previous page in history.
  • This action has been designed to put consistency in Firefox behavior and other Windows applications. In Linux, the "Backspace" key scrolls up in a page. So you might want to get the same behavior in Windows as well.

[TUT] Make Windows XP Genuine

OK, so you downloaded that pirated version of WinXP Pro and it keeps nagging you to validate it. I guess many of you are using the WGA-cracks that are released in updated versions every month. I did too, but got tired of it, and simply stopped updating the crack, since it was a big hassle. After a while, I found a new and better solution.

This method will make Windows 100% valid. Even things that don’t work with the WGA-cracks.

Basically it’s just a wonderful registry key that somehow makes windows xp work and validate. Heres how you do it:

Make sure all your previous WGA-cracks are deleted and that XP doesn’t validate. This is very important. The problems related to this are all caused by not doing this. This is for all version of Windows XP.

Here's how..

[INFO] New Philippine Tuition-free College Stands Out but Underappreciated by Media

iReport — Educational institutions that offer tuition-free college education for talented but deserving students may no longer be a novel idea because media ignores it. All over the globe, particularly in the Philippines there are so-called city-sponsored universities and schools that offer free education to high school graduates. One that is recently launched – a privately-funded college – stands out but remain under-appreciated.

Not like other city or state-sponsored colleges, the newly-opened La Verdad Christian College (La Verdad College), which offers a broadcast journalism course in Caloocan City is neither a recipient of government funding nor a by-product of a political promise just to have something to show-off when elected.

[TUT] DVD Repair via Optical Calibration

I bought my DVD player way back when they were pretty friggin’ expensive, so naturally after, and when it stopped working, I wasn’t about to just throw it away and buy another one. I’ve done a little bit of trial-and-error recalibration before, mainly on cd players, so I figured I’d give it a shot.

Note: I take no responsibility for any damages that might result from you reading this article. You might damage your DVD Player even more from trying to re-enact the steps described below. Think about that before doing it.

The first thing you’ll want to do is open the drive tray on your DVD player. Sometimes it’s tough to get the unit apart when the tray is already all the way closed, so eject the disc, and while the tray is out, unplug the unit.
